Life in Perspective

Its that time of the year again all over the United States where most people celebrate thanksgiving. Does anymore ever stop to wonder why? Is it all just about “The Turkey”? Or is it something more? Although considered a secular holiday today it was actually originally based off of religious principles. The traditional “first Thanksgiving” is the celebration that occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621. The Plymouth celebration occurred early in the history of what would become one of the original thirteen colonies that became the United States. The celebration became an important part of the American myth by the 1800s. Today however realistically Thanksgiving in most cases still holds true to families gathering and giving thanks and feasting. What do you think thanksgiving is?
